# Your account

> Create your Soca account in under a minute: no seed phrases, no monthly fees, and a @username your friends can find you by.

Soca is a simple money account. You can pay businesses (and pay a little less when you do), send money to friends, and keep your balance somewhere that is truly yours. Setting it up takes about a minute.

## Creating your account

Sign up with whatever is easiest for you: **Google**, **Apple**, or your **email address**. When you do, a secure wallet is created for you automatically behind the scenes. You never see a seed phrase, and there is nothing to write down or misplace. You just sign in the way you already sign in to everything else.

1. **Choose how to sign in**: Continue with Google, Apple, or email. If you already use a Solana wallet, you can connect that instead (more below).
2. **Pick your @username**: This is how friends and businesses find you and pay you. You can skip this and claim one later.
3. **Add a passkey**: Optional but recommended. Face ID, Touch ID, or a device passkey protects your payments. See [Security and recovery](/docs/personal/security-and-recovery).
4. **Take the quick tour**: A 20-second walkthrough of the app. You can skip it, and replay it any time from the Account screen.

## Already have a wallet?

If you already use a Solana wallet like **Phantom**, **Solflare**, or **Backpack**, you can connect it at sign-up and use it as your Soca account. Your money stays in your wallet, under your keys; Soca just gives it a friendly home with usernames, receipts, and subscriptions.

## Your @username

Your @username is your address on Soca. When a friend wants to send you money, they type your @username. There are no long account numbers and nothing to copy and paste. It also gives you a page at `/u/yourname` that anyone can use to pay you.

- Usernames are 3–30 characters: letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores.
- Pick something people will recognize; it is how you appear when you pay or get paid.
- Some names are reserved or protected for brands. If yours is taken, the app tells you right away so you can pick another.

## Personal and business, one account

When you first open Soca it asks a simple question: is this for you, or for your business? Both live on the same account, and you can switch anytime. Choose **Personal** for sending money, paying, and getting paid. Choose **Business** and Soca walks you through business setup, including payments, subscriptions, and invoices. ## The quick tour

The first-run tour shows you the four screens you will use most: **Home** (your balance and shortcuts), **Activity** (everything that has happened), **Plans** (subscriptions you have approved), and **Account** (your profile, security, and settings). Skipped it? Open the Account screen and tap **Take the tour again**.

## What it costs

Nothing. There are no monthly fees and no minimums. Sending money to another Soca user is free. Customers never pay network fees. Soca sponsors gas on every transaction. And when you pay a business with your Soca account, you actually pay **1% less** than the listed price. That discount is an account benefit, and it is the main reason to pay with your account rather than a bare wallet connection. See [Paying with Soca](/docs/personal/paying-with-soca).

> **Your money is yours**: Soca is non-custodial: money settles to wallets you hold the keys for, and any wallet key can be exported at any time.
